Frequently asked questions: PS TubeLED II UV
Which wavelengths and lengths are available for the PS TubeLED II UV?
The light is available with 365, 385, 395 and 405 nm, each in four lengths: 346 mm (5.4 W), 626 mm (10.8 W), 906 mm (16.1 W) and 1186 mm (21.3 to 21.6 W).
How high is the irradiance?
Depending on length and wavelength, the irradiance directly at the light (0 m) is between 57.4 and 100.5 mW/cm². The radiant flux is up to 12.1 W.
What does protection rating IP67 mean?
Thanks to protection rating IP67, the light is dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion. This makes it suitable for demanding industrial environments as well.
How long is the service life of the LEDs?
The LEDs used achieve a service life of more than 30,000 hours (L70), even in continuous operation and at high temperatures.
Which risk group do the lights belong to?
The lights fall into risk group 0 or 1 (depending on wavelength). In general, direct eye contact with the radiation source should be avoided. Suitable UV safety glasses are recommended for safe use.
Can the lights be used in continuous operation?
Yes, the temperature-optimised design ensures safe continuous operation. The thermal load on the LEDs remains within the optimum range.
What are the advantages of a UV LED light compared to conventional UV lamps?
- Longer service life
- Lower energy consumption
- Full output immediately, no warm-up time
- No mercury hazard
Are the lights maintenance-free?
Yes, LED technology ensures maintenance-free use over the entire service life. No lamp changes are required as with conventional UV lamps.
What happens if the lights are operated above +30 °C?
Operation above +30 °C is technically possible but can reduce the service life of the LEDs. Use within the specified temperature range is therefore recommended.
